Todo
From CharacterDB
-
Better integration of glyph editing in Character page -
Check input decomposition-
Put links to glyphs in decomposition string - Limit character input field to Unicode unified ideographs
-
Limit radical input field to radical forms
-
-
Handle automatic stroke order vs. manual -
Parser extensions-
Stroke order from decomposition (see automatic stroke order handling above) -
Stroke count based on stroke order -
Stroke order from abbreviations to Unicode forms
-
-
Purge character page automatically if glyph has been added -
Mark glyphs that are only found as components -
Radical pages should use Kangxi index not radical form which can be used in decomposition. -
Rethink technical implementation of character domain -
Variant characters (similar, semantic, simplified...) -
Reading information -
Supply default glyph to unspecified locales - Import
-
Export- Ask query only shows the first 10.000 results
[edit] Nice to have
- How to delete glyphs? Glyph forms in use should be deprecated not deleted
- Browsing characters
- Link to characters inside decomposition
- Add editing helpers, e.g.:
- In decomposition form: show all radical glyphs for the character
- In decomposition form: show all characters with stroke count equal to character stroke count - radical stroke count
- In manual stroke order form: show stroke orders of single components
- Show similar decompositions to find cases where a complex decomposition can be simplified by expressing a partial tree by a single character, e.g. ⿰氵⿰⿱口耳戈 => ⿰氵戢 for 濈.
-
Show a warning if character has no glyph for a specific locale but its usage is indicated by a certain character domain attached to this locale. (Doesn't work with defaults system) - Show stroke counts that don't match stroke count given by Unihan
- Make a Errors page that lists all inconsistencies in the database.
[edit] Open questions
- Prefer alphabetic input or encoded stroke forms for stroke order? Possibly on-the-fly conversion with Javascript
- How to maintain data from external sources
- Allow editing?
- Read from an SQL source?
- How to record sources for data?
